Odell Beckham Jr. Eyes NFL Return with New York Giants

5 days ago 0

Odell Beckham Jr. is nearing an NFL comeback. The star wide receiver, who hasn’t played since the 2024 season, is set to work out with the New York Giants on Monday. This marks a potential reunion with the team where he began his career, according to a report by Jordan Schultz.

The Giants needed reinforcements at wide receiver after Gunner Olszewski suffered a torn Achilles last weekend. Beckham, selected by the Giants in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, spent his first five seasons with the team.

Beckham last took the field on December 8, 2024, when he played for the Miami Dolphins. The Dolphins waived him five days later. If he plays for the Giants in Week 1, it would be 644 days since his last NFL game.

During his time with the Dolphins, Beckham recorded only nine receptions for 55 yards in nine games. Over his 10-year career, he has amassed 575 receptions for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns. Most of this success occurred during his initial stint with the Giants, where he achieved 390 receptions for 5,476 yards and 44 touchdowns in 59 games.

If the Giants sign Beckham, he would join a receiving group that includes Malachi Fields, Malik Nabers, and Darnell Mooney. The Giants ranked 21st in passing yards per game with an average of 204.4 last season. Their leading receiver, Wandale Robinson, has since moved to the Tennessee Titans.
