High Demand for NBA Finals Tickets at Madison Square Garden

3 hours ago 0

Madison Square Garden is set to host its first NBA Finals game of the millennium, and the demand for tickets is unprecedented. The New York Knicks, chasing their first championship in 53 years, will host Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the San Antonio Spurs on Monday. It marks the first time since 1999 that Madison Square Garden will host a Finals game.

Tickets to Knicks games are always expensive, but this particular game surpasses all previous records in terms of cost. As of now, SeatGeek lists the entry price at $9,990 for the least desirable seats. Only two ticket options fall below the $10,000 mark. Meanwhile, StubHub’s lowest price for a 100-level seat is $13,115, making it the most costly NBA game in history.

According to the New York Post and SeatGeek, the average ticket price for Madison Square Garden games in this Finals series (Games 3, 4, and 6) is $7,149. This figure has broken the previous record of $1,965 set in 2024 for a game in Dallas. The only sports event with a higher average ticket price was Super Bowl LVIII in 2024, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, with tickets averaging $10,497.

President Donald Trump has announced plans to attend the game on Monday. The Knicks’ victory in Game 1 on the road in San Antonio has fueled interest and pushed ticket prices higher. If the Knicks secure a win in Game 2 and return home leading the series 2-0, demand and prices could increase even further.

A digital billboard outside Madison Square Garden featuring Knicks guard Jalen Brunson captures the excitement, declaring, “This Train is Not Stopping.” The Knicks are the 2026 Eastern Conference champions, marking their first Finals appearance since 1999.

Game 2 is scheduled to tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET. Stay updated with Fox News Digital’s sports coverage and consider subscribing to the Fox News Sports Huddle newsletter for more insights.
