Best-selling author Dave Eggers has released a new novel this week. The story follows two friends deeply connected by their love for art across multiple decades. Eggers’ novel isn’t the only narrative of interest. His personal journey is equally compelling.
Jeffrey Brown, the senior arts correspondent, reports from San Francisco. This report is part of the arts and culture series, CANVAS.
Brown has been with the News Hour for over 30 years. His roles have included co-anchor, studio moderator, and field reporter, covering a variety of national and international topics. His work has taken him across the United States and various parts of the world.
In his role as arts correspondent, Brown has interviewed many of the world’s renowned writers, musicians, actors, and artists. Some of his notable projects at the News Hour include a multi-year series, “Culture at Risk,” which explores endangered cultural heritage in the U.S. and globally. He also helped create the NewsHour’s online platform, “Art Beat,” and hosts “Now Read This,” a monthly book club in partnership with The New York Times.
Anne Azzi Davenport, the Senior Producer of CANVAS at PBS News Hour, contributes to this initiative. She continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the coverage and collaboration.
