Investigation into the Disappearance of Lynette Hooker Continues

6 days ago 0

The mysterious disappearance of Lynette Hooker remains under investigation. A recent development suggests inconsistencies in the account given by her husband, Brian Hooker. A recorded phone call reportedly places him in the water with Lynette the night she vanished in the Bahamas, contradicting his claim of being in the dinghy.

According to the authorities, the Hookers left Hope Town, Bahamas, on April 4 around 7:30 p.m., heading back to their sailboat, Soulmate. Brian told officials that rough waters led to his wife falling off the dinghy. He reportedly paddled to shore and reached Marsh Harbour by 4 a.m. on April 5.

“The waves were intense,” Brian Hooker explained in the recorded call. “I took in several waves over the dinghy, and she was a determined swimmer despite not being an athlete.”

Blaine Stevenson, a fellow boater, received a call from Brian two days later. Stevenson shared with Fox News Digital that the call suggested Brian had been in the water, contradicting his earlier statements.

Kenneth Engerrand, a maritime law expert, voiced skepticism: “He’s given multiple accounts, none consistent,” he commented on the unfolding story.

The investigation intensified when GPS data from Brian’s phone suggested discrepancies with his initial statement. This prompted the U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Services to conduct a renewed search, concluding on a Monday. They took the dinghy for further examination. The investigation is now classified as a homicide case.

Bahamian authorities have permitted U.S. officials to search a previously unexplored area of the Sea of Abaco. The area has waters approximately 25 feet deep.

In an interview with ABC News, Brian Hooker’s attorney, Crystal Marie Hauser, urged the public to reserve judgment. “Everyone handles stress differently,” she stated, asking for empathy towards Brian.
