3 hours ago 0

Authorities in South Carolina confirmed on Friday that a body discovered earlier in the week belongs to Elena Moore, who went missing on June 11. Moore was 39 years old.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office has not yet disclosed the cause and manner of her death. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday, and further details will be provided on Monday.

The body of Moore was found on Wednesday afternoon near a gym she was last seen leaving on June 11 in Lexington. This city has a population of approximately 23,000 and is located west of Columbia.

A preliminary identification was made through a description of her clothing, as stated by Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green. He noted that a tip sparked by news coverage led to the discovery of her body.

Green chose not to comment on whether foul play is suspected in her disappearance. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is handling the investigation into her death. On Friday night, a spokesperson from the department did not respond to a request for comment.
