They would strip ideas back as needed, letting the lyrics shape the arrangement. “Let’s go right back down to just the guitar, let’s go back down to just the keys and let’s start over,” he explains. 6LACK finds collaboration deeply energizing. “It’d be feeling like exchanging superpowers,” he remarks with humor. He wanted this track to embody the ease of quiet Sundays, drawing from comfort, family, and emotional relaxation.

Reflecting on his album’s title and theme, the Grammy-nominated artist defines strength in adulthood through love and responsibility. “Being there for your folks is gangster,” he says.
