Angel Reese made her season debut with the Atlanta Dream against Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever on Thursday in a Commissioner’s Cup matchup. Despite the Dream having a better record and a higher spot in the standings, the Fever claimed an 83-71 victory over Reese and her new team.

Clark has been praised for her contributions to the league, and Reese is also proving herself impactful in the WNBA and for her team. Although the Dream lost, Reese secured her sixth double-double in nine games, tallying 11 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks.

Fever Reporter Had Credentials Revoked for His Caitlin Clark Update: Report…

Reese has made a notable start with the Dream, setting a franchise record as the fastest player to reach 100 points and 100 rebounds in just nine games. ESPN Insights highlighted her immediate impact and milestone achievement in an X post on Thursday evening.

With over 1,000 career points, Reese is projected to reach her 1,000th rebound this season, given her contributions. A two-time WNBA All-Star, Reese is currently leading the league with an average of 11.3 rebounds per game. Just last month, she delivered 16 rebounds against the Dallas Wings, marking the highest in her Dream journey.

Reese has demonstrated her ability in 20-rebound games during her time with the Chicago Sky. Her record remains a 22-rebound game against the Las Vegas Aces in August 2024.

Her tenure with the Chicago Sky was notable until controversy stirred last season. Reese expressed criticisms towards the team and teammates, resulting in a half-game suspension and her subsequent trade to Atlanta this offseason.

The Dream has proven to be a promising destination for Reese, maintaining the Eastern Conference’s best record at 6-3. They continue leading the conference even after Thursday’s defeat.

The Atlanta Dream is set to face the Washington Mystics at 6 p.m. ET on Saturday.
