3 days ago 0

The New Orleans Saints face a crucial test in the upcoming season. After facing difficulties in the past few years, adjustments in their strategy and lineup signal that 2026 might be their time to shine. There is anticipation around their potential breakthrough.

Zachary Pereles from CBS Sports points out an emerging star who might make a significant impact for the Saints in the 2026 season. He highlights Kelvin Banks Jr., the left tackle, who impressed many during his rookie year.

“The offseason and preseason present ample chances for players to transition from being relatively unknown to standout performers,” Pereles notes. This potential applies to Banks Jr., whom he identifies as a key player for the Saints.

Banks secured his position as a left tackle throughout the entire 2025 season. His performance earned attention, ranking as the 27th tackle according to PFF’s grades. This placed him ahead of respected veterans like Dion Dawkins and Ronnie Stanley, as well as Will Campbell, drafted five spots before him.

The rarity of such an impressive rookie season adds excitement around Banks’ future contributions. As the 2026 season approaches, his collaboration with quarterback Tyler Shough is eagerly anticipated. Shough aims to prove his own capabilities, and Banks could be instrumental in enhancing his performance.
