Ohio Man Charged in Thwarted White House Attack Plot

2 hours ago 0

A 19-year-old from Ohio, Tycen Proper, faces charges of attempted murder of a federal officer and conspiracy against the United States. Federal agents stopped a planned attack at the White House during the UFC Freedom 250 event celebrating the country’s 250th anniversary.

Several arrests followed the discovery of this plot. Authorities say Proper admitted involvement in planning a coordinated assault on the government during the event, which was scheduled for June 14, 2026, on the White House lawn in Washington, D.C.

An affidavit reveals that Proper’s mother informed investigators about his connections with an online group. This group, claiming to be ex-military and Christian-based, held extreme religious and antigovernment views.

FBI Director Kash Patel announced June 10 as the date when law enforcement became aware of the threat. Multiple individuals were taken into custody, and the planned attacks were averted.

Newsweek attempted to reach Proper’s public defender for comments.
