A tragic incident occurred in Texas as a business jet crashed on a highway, resulting in the death of one person, according to local authorities.
The aircraft, carrying six individuals, crashed on Loop 20 in Laredo, Texas, at around 10 p.m., as reported by Jose Baeza, an investigator from the Laredo Police Department. The crash also involved a vehicle on the highway, although details about whether the fatality was among the plane’s passengers or on the ground remain unclear.
Incident Details
The crash involved a Cessna Citation Latitude twin jet, based on data from FlightAware. The plane had departed from Los Cabos International Airport in Mexico at 6:19 p.m. and met its unfortunate end upon reaching Laredo. The reason behind the crash is still unknown.
NetJets, the company responsible for the plane, confirmed in a statement that it was collaborating with authorities to investigate the incident.
Immediate Aftermath
The conditions of the remaining passengers in the aircraft were not readily available. Although ground injuries were initially not reported as serious, five responding officers were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation.
In the wake of the disaster, Loop 20 was closed following the accident and was projected to remain shut into Wednesday morning, Baeza stated.

Footage shared on social media depicted the plane on its side, resting against a highway barrier, with significant damage to its tail section separated from the fuselage.
