The Ole Miss Rebels experienced a notable season, yet it fell short of being deemed successful by running back Kewan Lacy. “I grade it based on the ultimate prize not being won,” Lacy expressed in an interview with Fox News Digital.
Despite challenges, including the departure of Lane Kiffin to LSU right before the playoffs, the team maintained focus. The uncertainty surrounding assistant coaches joining Kiffin did not distract the Rebels from their efforts. According to Lacy, the team prioritized focusing on each game as it came without letting external factors affect their performance.
“At the end of the day, we play football regardless of circumstances,” Lacy said.
As the Rebels aim for a national title, Lacy will utilize the Q-Collar. This FDA-cleared sports gear is designed to protect the brain from repetitive impacts. Worn around the neck, it applies gentle pressure to limit brain movement during head movements. Lacy acknowledged his mother for discovering the Q-Collar and suggesting it, seeing the benefits through research and observation of other athletes.
“The Q-Collar has been an asset for my on-field performance and protection,” Lacy noted. He believes that exploring safety equipment can offer athletes better protection and extend playing careers.
Returning players, including talent like Trinidad Chambliss, bolster expectations for the Rebels this season. Lacy emphasized taking it game by game and is optimistic about the team’s prospects.
“With new staff and players, I’m confident we can achieve more this year,” he stated.
