President Donald Trump launched the Great American State Fair with an eventful evening on the National Mall, celebrating America’s progress and echoing the spirit of the American Revolution.

In his address, Trump compared his political movement to the historic uprising of 1776, stating, “Just like those patriots of 1776, over the past 17 months, we have taken power back from the far off political class.” He emphasized the nation’s regained liberty, sovereignty, and prosperity, assuring the audience that America is being prioritized once again.

The opening ceremony featured Lee Greenwood performing “God Bless the U.S.A.,” military flyovers including B-2 bombers and F-35 stealth fighters, comments from Cabinet members, and music from the U.S. Marine Band.

America is back. We’re the hottest country anywhere in the world. We’re respected by everybody. Nobody’s laughing at us anymore.

Trump described improvements in Washington, D.C., highlighting the removal of homeless encampments and graffiti. He mentioned repairs to monuments and statues and attention to landmark sites like Union Station and Lafayette Square.

Looking ahead, Trump previewed numerous anniversary projects, including a new White House ballroom and a National Garden of American Heroes. He framed the nation’s 250th birthday as both a tribute to America’s founding and a start of a new “golden age.” The Great American State Fair will feature exhibits from all 56 states and territories, along with military flyovers, patriotic music, tech demonstrations, a FIFA fan zone, and a rodeo.

Trump also announced plans for an unparalleled Fourth of July celebration on the National Mall, with what is promised to be the largest fireworks display in history. Additional events include the Patriot Games, showcasing top high school athletes, and a Freedom 250 Grand Prix race.

The festivities honor generations of Americans who contributed to the nation’s development, including iconic historical achievements. Trump concluded the event by emphasizing America’s heritage, history, and destiny as a leading nation.

Happy birthday, America, he added.
