1 hour ago 0

Representative Thomas Kean Jr., who had been absent from his duties in Washington for almost four months, recently returned to his home in New Jersey. The congressman was seen at his residence in Westfield on Wednesday evening. He appeared in a well-lit room around 8:45 p.m., dressed in a dark suit and red tie.

“It’s good to see you,” Kean commented when approached by a reporter from The New York Times. Despite wearing formal attire, he declined an extended conversation. “I’ll talk to you next week,” Kean added, expressing gratitude before closing the door. His wife, Rhonda, was present, smiling in the background.

According to his aides, Kean, 57, was undergoing treatment for a health issue but is expected to make a complete recovery. However, they did not disclose further details. During his absence, Kean missed over 100 floor votes since mid-March.

Kean is seeking his third term in office in November. He is participating in one of the nation’s most competitive midterm contests. However, his absence has frustrated some of his prominent supporters within the Republican Party.
