An individual residing in Illinois, Jose Alberto Ramirez, faces allegations of threatening an FBI special agent in Minneapolis, as indicated by court documents reviewed by Fox News. Ramirez is due to appear in federal court to respond to charges that he threatened the agent using information compromised from government documents.
According to an affidavit, agitators managed to steal sensitive materials, including personal information, from government vehicles located in Minneapolis. These documents contained details such as residential addresses, contact numbers, and email addresses, which were subsequently made public through social media platforms.
“Following the unauthorized release of these employees’ personal information, several documents, which comprised home addresses, phone numbers, and emails, were uploaded online,” the affidavit reports.
The affidavit provides a description of offensive text messages sent to the work phone of an FBI special agent, originating from a specific phone number. These messages, filled with offensive language, were sent sequentially, with threats against the agent’s family, urging them to ensure their quick and safe return home.
In addition, a voicemail left by the same phone number contained derogatory language aimed at the agent, further emphasizing the threats.
Furthermore, an incident report by the Village of Schaumberg Police Department describes a complaint from a Woodfield Mall manager in Illinois in 2024. The report identifies Ramirez as an employee who reportedly threatened his colleagues. The phone number provided in this incident matches the one linked to the threatening communications to the FBI agent. Ramirez, as per the affidavit, had informed his coworkers of his intent to return to the workplace even after being dismissed, following threats directed at them.
Ramirez’s criminal record shows a series of felonies and misdemeanors in Illinois spanning several years. This includes charges such as Misdemeanor Domestic Battery/Physical Contact in 2017, a Felony Burglary charge in 2017, Felony Mob Action in 2020, and another Felony Burglary offense in 2023.
