A 64-year-old woman lost her life in a hit-and-run accident in Chicago’s South Shore neighborhood early Sunday morning. According to the police, the incident occurred as the woman was a passenger in a dark-colored SUV traveling north on South Stony Island Avenue.
At approximately 2:42 a.m., a dark-colored sedan collided with the SUV. The driver of the sedan then fled the scene on foot, leaving the vehicle behind. Emergency services pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
No other injuries were reported. Authorities have not made any arrests yet, and the investigation is still ongoing. Police are working to gather more information about the suspect and the circumstances surrounding the event.
