President Donald Trump plans to visit the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Tuesday for medical and dental examinations, a White House official confirmed. This will mark his third visit to the doctor in just over a year.
Trump has previously visited Walter Reed twice, once in April and again in October 2025. Additionally, he has made two trips to his dentist in West Palm Beach this year, with the first in January and a follow-up earlier this month.
As he approaches his 80th birthday, Trump, who holds the record as the oldest person to assume the presidency, frequently claims to be in excellent health. However, rumors about his health persist. During his campaign for re-election, he emphasized his vitality and energy, often criticizing his opponent as “Sleepy Joe Biden.” Reports of occasional drowsy moments and a bruised hand, attributed by the White House to handshakes and aspirin use, continue to raise questions.
Last year, Trump’s medical examination revealed chronic venous insufficiency, following mild swelling in his legs. This condition is when leg veins have trouble sending blood back to the heart.
In January, Trump discussed with the Wall Street Journal that he uses aspirin as a blood thinner, stating, “Aspirin is good for thinning out my blood, and I don’t want thick blood pouring through my heart.”
His October 2025 visit to Walter Reed was initially labeled as a scheduled follow-up. Trump later clarified to the media that he had an MRI. However, it was confirmed that he underwent a CT scan of his heart and abdomen. Dr. Sean Barbabella, Trump’s physician, then explained to NBC News that during his visit, the president had routine physical evaluations to ensure optimal health. The CT scan was part of screening for cardiovascular issues, revealing no concerns.
After the April 2025 check-up, Dr. Barbabella stated that the president “remains in excellent health, showing robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function.” He added, “President Trump’s schedule includes numerous meetings, public appearances, media interactions, and frequent successes at golf events.”
