President Donald Trump’s recent endorsement of Paxton influences the race. Newsweek contacted Paxton’s team for comments, while Cornyn’s campaign declined to comment.
Quantus Insights Poll
According to Quantus Insights, Paxton has 52.7 percent, Cornyn has 43.4 percent, and 3.9 percent are undecided. Trump’s endorsement affects only 58.9 percent of voters, reflecting limited impact.
Paxton is popular among male, female, millennial, Gen Z, and white likely GOP voters. Cornyn, however, leads with Hispanic and Asian voters and ties with Paxton among Black voters. Rural areas show a preference for Paxton, while Cornyn finds support in urban zones. Both candidates actively encourage voters on social media, emphasizing the significance of each vote.

A separate poll from Texas Southern University/YouGov indicates a close contest between Talarico and either Cornyn or Paxton. Cornyn leads Talarico by 1 percent, while Paxton and Talarico are tied. The survey gathered opinions from April 22 to May 6 among 1,223 likely voters.
Additionally, a Texas Public Opinion Research poll suggests Talarico may outperform both Paxton and Cornyn in direct contests. The figures show Talarico ahead against Cornyn and Paxton, with a margin of error of 3.3 percent, conducted from April 17 to April 20 among 1,018 voters.
Finally, a poll conducted last month by co/efficient displayed Paxton trailing Cornyn slightly, with 43 percent to Cornyn’s 44 percent. Among women, Paxton trails Cornyn, yet he has a slight lead among male voters. Cornyn maintains a significant lead among Hispanic voters. This poll surveyed 1,143 Republican voters, reporting a 3.07 percent error margin.
