ESPN microphones caught an unidentified individual whispering offensive comments after Texas pitcher Teagan Kavan took the lead 1-0 against an opponent. Despite this, Kevin Brown, the play-by-play announcer, continued without addressing the remarks.

Brown discussed Arizona State’s manager, Megan Bartlett, highlighting her experience in nurturing assistant coaches. The controversial moment was among several incidents leading to the tournament.

During the weekend, Jason Williams, a former NBA star, was ejected in Texas Tech’s game against Florida. Williams celebrated his daughter’s achievement, Mia Williams, who hit a two-run homer helping the Red Raiders defeat the Gators, her previous team.
