In Greenburgh, N.Y., renowned actor Ben Stiller extended a public invitation to Mrs. Brown, spouse of New York Knicks coach Mike Brown, for a photo opportunity. The actor made this proposal on social media after Coach Brown mentioned that his wife was hesitant to ask Stiller for a picture.
The incident occurred on the court in Cleveland, where Stiller, a known fan of the Knicks, watched the team secure their first NBA Finals spot since 1999. Coach Brown shared the moment when his wife, Ro, noticed Stiller and informed him. Despite his encouragement, Mrs. Brown refrained from approaching for a photo, responding with, “No, I can’t do it!”
Ben Stiller, upon seeing a video of Coach Brown’s comments post-practice, used social media to offer a solution. Stiller stated, “I am available for any picture any time with any member of Mike Brown’s immediate or extended family or friends,” citing appreciation for Coach Brown leading the Knicks to the NBA Finals in his first year.
Coach Brown has acquainted himself with several celebrity Knicks fans, including Spike Lee, an acclaimed director and perhaps the most famous supporter of the team. Brown also mentioned getting to know rapper Fat Joe, who has shared his fashion opinions with him.
“He used to tease me about my shoes,” recalled Brown, “suggesting I switch to Nikes for more comfort. He even snapped a photo with my stepson, who was thrilled. I’ve been a fan ever since.”
