Cincinnati Reds pitcher Andrew Abbott recently shared a significant moment, announcing his engagement to girlfriend Lindsay Stone through social media. The announcement featured a striking proposal image with the city skyline as their backdrop, marking the event on a rooftop with the caption ‘Forever.’
Stone is a recognized figure in Cincinnati, serving as a TV anchor at WLWT for three years. Her career began as a sports reporter covering Notre Dame football at WDNU in South Bend, Indiana, before moving to WTTV in Indianapolis. In a recent social media post, Stone revealed her departure from WLWT, effective May 24, without disclosing future career plans.
Abbott’s proposal isn’t the only highlight of his season. He demonstrated brilliance with a perfect strike pitch recently—an essential part of his sporting journey as he continues to contribute to the Reds.
Abbott, 26, has spent his entire four-year career with the Reds. Last season, he earned a position in the All-Star team, boasting a 10-7 win-loss record and a 2.87 ERA over 166 innings. These accomplishments led the Reds to appoint him as Opening Day starter this season.
However, Abbott hasn’t replicated the same success as last year. His current season stats include a 4-2 record and a 3.97 ERA over 11 starts, reflecting some command issues with 26 walks against 38 strikeouts. Nonetheless, in the last five starts, he achieved a 4-0 record with an impressive 1.29 ERA and 19 strikeouts, suggesting he’s regaining his form.
