DOJ Investigating Michigan Voter Fraud

2 weeks ago 0

DOJ Investigation in Michigan: Harmeet Dhillon, U.S. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, discusses the Department of Justice’s probe into fraudulent voting in Michigan’s Wayne County. The investigation highlights issues with compliance related to the Help America Vote Act.

Maryland Ballot Mix-Up: A recent primary ballot mishap in Maryland has stirred Republican demands for a federal audit of the voter rolls. Approximately 400,000 primary voters mistakenly received ballots from the incorrect party due to a vendor error.

The Maryland Freedom Caucus has urged state election officials to disclose the state’s voter rolls for federal examination. A mishap forced the redistribution of thousands of mail-in primary ballots. The caucus insists on transparency to ensure one vote per person.

Caucus Statement: “The Maryland Freedom Caucus is calling on Secretary of the Election Board, Jared DeMarinis, to immediately release Maryland’s voter rolls to the federal government for a proper audit,” the group asserted. They emphasize the need to distinguish between first and second printings of ballots.

The caucus demands clarity on how the state plans to differentiate ballots and scrutinize the voting process, amid concerns over potential voter suppression.

“The Maryland Democrats and the bureaucrats over at the Board of Elections have proven once again that they are the biggest purveyors of voter suppression tactics in the state,” the statement claimed.

Maryland’s elections administrator Jared DeMarinis assured the public that steps are underway to uphold the integrity of the mail-in voting process. DeMarinis acknowledged the error and promised corrective measures to secure the voting process.

Vendor’s Response: Taylor Print & Visual Impressions (TPVI), admitted fault and apologized. The service team confirmed remailed ballots and called for disposal of incorrect ballots. Safeguards ensure only corrected ballots are counted.

The error impacted ballots requested before May 14. Web-delivered ballots were unaffected. This incident has intensified Republican scrutiny on election integrity.

Republican National Committee Lawsuit: The RNC had previously filed a lawsuit demanding Maryland update its voter rolls and meet federal requirements. Registration numbers appear disproportionately high compared to Census data, spurring the legal challenge.

RNC Chair Joe Gruters emphasized the need for accurate voter rolls and accountability from Maryland’s State Board of Elections. The lawsuit echoes similar actions in other states, seeking compliance with federal transparency standards.
