At the premiere of the new film “Melania,” former President Donald Trump expressed admiration for rapper Nicki Minaj, calling her a “fantastic” and “terrific person.” Trump shared these thoughts while walking the red carpet, speaking to Fox News Digital about Minaj, who is 43 years old.
Trump mentioned how Minaj has been a supporter from the beginning, understanding the goals of the Trump accounts, which focus on helping young individuals grow up to be financially successful. “She got it,” Trump said, emphasizing that Minaj is “a winner.”
“Melania,” the movie, highlights the journey of First Lady Melania Trump as she prepares for a potential second term as First Lady ahead of the 2025 presidential inauguration. The film had its global theater premiere on Friday, January 30. During the event, Trump reiterated his fondness for Minaj, underscored by their past collaboration at the U.S. Treasury Department’s Trump Accounts Summit.
Minaj professed her unwavering support for the president at the summit, stating, “I am probably the president’s number one fan.” She added that despite any negative commentary, her support for Trump remains steadfast, even motivating her further.
“Well, I don’t know what to say, but I will say that I am probably the president’s number one fan,” Minaj told attendees at the summit. “And that’s not going to change. And the hate or what people have to say, it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more.”
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson shared his impressions of Minaj during her Oval Office visit, remarking on the “surreal” experience of having the “Super Bass” singer present. According to Johnson, Minaj left a memorable mark by wearing a glittery Trump cap that complemented her outfit.
Minaj’s support for Trump dates back to November 2025, when she publicly praised him for addressing the massacre of Christians in Nigeria. This was following a social media post from Trump asserting the U.S. government’s readiness to protect Nigerian Christians.
Minaj’s connection with Trump extends to the White House TikTok account. She expressed her enthusiasm when the account featured a viral video set to her song “Beez in the Trap” and “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes, highlighting moments of President Trump and First Lady Melania in various engagements.
The entertainer’s post on X revealed her excitement and sense of unity with Trump’s administration, sharing, “The President & First Lady of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!” She thanked whoever uploaded the video to TikTok, promising “unlimited backstage GAG CITY FOR LIFE.”
