Idaho Mother Charged with Murder of Twin Toddlers

An Idaho mother faces charges of first-degree murder following the deaths of her twin toddlers last year. Andrea Shaw, aged 23, was indicted with two counts of first-degree murder, according to an announcement by the Payette Police Department.

Shaw was arrested in Boise, and police reported that her 18-month-old twins were found deceased in a shared bed on May 1, 2025. Although the cause of death was not publicly shared by the police, the indictment in Payette accuses Shaw of suffocating her children, Dallas and Tyson, as noted by KTVB.

In the days following the tragic incident, Shaw and her husband participated in a podcast hosted by Children’s Health Defense, an anti-vaccine organization formerly led by Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Shaw claimed that her twins became ill and died soon after receiving three vaccinations.

Shaw’s attorney, Joe Filicetti, expressed his continued belief in the connection between the vaccinations and the children’s deaths, though he did not provide supporting evidence for this claim. “They were looking at it as a vaccine death, and that’s still what I believe it to be,” Filicetti told KTVB.

Recently, Shaw gave birth prematurely to another child through a C-section, with her husband currently taking care of the baby. Initially held at the Ada County Jail, Shaw has been extradited to Payette County and is being held on a $2 million bond.

During a virtual arraignment at the Payette County District Court, the court read the charges against Shaw and informed her of the potential penalties, which include the death penalty as a possible outcome.
