Jonathan Andic Accused in Father’s Death, Steps Down From Mango Board

1 week ago 0

Jonathan Andic, the son of the founder of the Mango clothing empire, faces serious charges in Spain, linked to his father’s 2024 death. He has denied the accusation of murder, describing it as “unjust and unfounded.” In a letter to Mango staff, Andic announced his resignation as vice president of the company’s board to focus on his legal defense.

“A public narrative has been created based on a view that is biased, distorted and taken out of context,” Andic stated in the letter. At 45, this marks his first public comment on the case. He emphasized the importance of concentrating all his efforts on proving his innocence.

Andic’s involvement in the tragic event stems from a hiking trip with his 71-year-old father, Isak Andic, in the Montserrat mountains near Barcelona. On December 14, 2024, the elder Andic tragically fell to his death. Initially treated as an accident, the investigation’s direction changed when prosecutors reopened the case in October 2025, focusing on Jonathan Andic.

After being arrested a week ago, Andic was released upon posting a bail of one million euros ($1.2 million). He took on the role of executive vice president for Mango’s holding company in January 2025, approximately six weeks following his father’s death, as noted by Reuters.
