Lisa Hartman Black and Clint Black’s 35-year marriage began with a promise: a sincere commitment echoed in their vows. The ‘Knots Landing’ star and the country music artist are collaborating on a Lifetime movie titled ‘When I Said I Do,’ inspired by their 1999 duet. The film follows Ali Corley, a search-and-rescue K-9 handler, as she finds love again after her husband’s death.

The couple, both executive producers, also appear in the movie, portraying themselves as hosts of a relationship podcast. ‘When I Said I Do’ debuts on Lifetime on May 23 and will be available for streaming the following day.

Lisa Hartman Black recounted how Clint asked her to sing the duet years ago, which she initially hesitated to do. She ultimately agreed, leading to chart success and numerous accolades. Their duet has become a favorite for weddings and vow renewals.

Clint and Lisa met backstage at one of Clint’s concerts on New Year’s Eve in 1990, married in 1991, and welcomed their daughter, Lily Pearl Black, in 2001. Their daughter, Lily, shares her father’s writing talent and has an impressive voice. Though Lisa joked about hoping Lily would become a veterinarian, she supports her daughter’s music aspirations. The family enjoys simple activities together, treasuring their time as a close-knit unit.
