Golf legend Phil Mickelson is no longer associated with The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, California. This follows allegations of inappropriate behavior with a female staff member, according to a report by Golf Digest.
Mickelson, 55, had been practicing at the club for decades. However, he is now unwelcome after accusations surfaced of “nonconsensual and inappropriate physical contact” with a female employee this spring. Multiple sources informed Golf Digest of these events.
The employee, who reportedly rejected Mickelson’s advances, informed her supervisors about the incident. Mickelson was confronted while on the golf course and asked to leave, Golf Digest reported.
The Farms Golf Club addressed the situation in a statement to NBC News. “This individual is no longer a member,” they said, not specifically naming Mickelson. They further clarified, “Following a staff member report of member misconduct, the Club provided immediate and ongoing support to the staff member, conducted a thorough independent investigation of the incident, and took decisive action.”
Phil Mickelson, captured during the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia in April 2025 by Andrew Redington / Getty Images, remained unavailable for comment through his representative. Meanwhile, his attorney denied the allegations, claiming they were contradicted by objective video evidence. Tom Clare, representing Mickelson, remarked that there is misinformation circulating and emphasized that Mickelson’s focus remains on a private family health matter.
A spokesperson for Mickelson indicated that any misunderstanding has been resolved and reiterated Mickelson’s commitment to attending to a family health issue. His return to professional golf remains uncertain. Previously, Mickelson announced a break from competition in April to address this family health concern.
A married father of three, Mickelson is a six-time major champion. His career also features moments of controversy, including his involvement with the Saudi-backed LIV Golf series.
