President Trump’s Health Assessment

7 days ago 0

The White House physician recently confirmed that President Donald Trump is in “excellent health.” Following his third medical checkup in 13 months at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, Dr. Sean Barbabella, the president’s physician, released a memo stating that Trump is fully capable of fulfilling his duties as Commander-in-Chief.

The memo, released three days after Trump’s exam, detailed a series of tests evaluating cardiac, eye, and pulmonary functions, among other areas. Results were generally normal, with some noted lower leg swelling and hand bruising. Barbabella attributed these to minor tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.

Trump’s weight was reported as 238 pounds, with a resting heart rate of 73 beats per minute. He also underwent a neurological exam, scoring 30 out of 30 on a cognitive function test. Barbabella notes Trump continuously performs well on cognitive exams.

The President is on prescribed medication for cholesterol and cardiac prevention. Barbabella assured that Trump is current on preventive screenings and immunizations, including cancer screenings, cardiovascular assessments, and metabolic evaluations. Preventive advice covered dietary guidance, low-dose aspirin recommendation, increased physical activity, and weight management.

During the last year, Trump visited Walter Reed in April and October, and had dental appointments in Florida in January and May. As the oldest person to assume the presidency and approaching 80 years in June, Trump frequently emphasizes his excellent health. Following his most recent visit to Walter Reed, he publicly thanked the medical team in a statement on Truth Social.

Despite his health reassurances, Trump has occasionally shown signs of fatigue and bruising, leading to public speculation. The White House attributed the bruising to frequent handshaking and aspirin use as a blood thinner, which exceeds his doctor’s recommendations. Last year, the White House also disclosed Trump’s chronic venous insufficiency diagnosis, a non-life-threatening issue affecting leg circulation.

During an October visit to Walter Reed, Trump underwent a CT scan of his heart and abdomen to check for cardiovascular concerns. Barbabella explained the scan was preemptive and confirmed there were no abnormalities. In his April 2025 assessment, Barbabella reiterated Trump’s excellent health across cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical metrics.
