Super Bowl champion Russell Wilson announced his retirement on Wednesday. His wife, Ciara, had an emotional response to his decision. Ciara, a well-known singer and songwriter, has been married to Wilson for nearly ten years, and she reflected on their time together.

Ciara expressed her thoughts on social media, stating, “The best in the world! There’s only one, 3!” in reaction to Wilson’s announcement.

“Always so proud of you! It’s a true blessing to go on this journey with you! My greatest inspiration! I love you so much!” she added, accompanied by a goat emoji and a heart-shaped hands emoji.

Ciara has four children, three with Wilson. Her eldest child, Future, is from a previous relationship with rapper Future.

Wilson’s retirement follows reports that he has finalized a deal to join CBS Sports as an analyst. In his retirement video, Wilson stated, “As I enter this next chapter with CBS Sports and ‘The NFL Today,’ I’m so blessed to continue doing what I love most – being around the greatest game in the world.”

He also expressed gratitude to his family and friends, notably acknowledging Ciara, “Thank you, C. I thank you, Ciara, for being my greatest blessing, my best friend and my partner through it all. None of this journey called life would have been the same without you,” Wilson said.

The 10-time Pro Bowl quarterback began his career when he was drafted in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks. Wilson played ten seasons in Seattle and contributed significantly to their victory in Super Bowl XLVIII against the Denver Broncos with a convincing 43-8 win.

The Seahawks traded him to the Broncos before the 2022 season, but success eluded him in Denver. After two seasons, the Broncos released him. Wilson subsequently spent one season each with the Pittsburgh Steelers and New York Giants before retiring.

Over his 14-year NFL career, spanning 205 games, Wilson achieved a record of 121-80-1. He completed 64.6% of his passes, accumulating 46,966 yards, with 353 touchdowns and 114 interceptions.
