4 months ago 0

Savannah Guthrie, co-host of NBC’s “Today” show, along with her siblings Camron and Annie Guthrie, made an emotional plea for the safe return of their mother, Nancy Guthrie, who authorities suspect was abducted from her Tucson, Arizona home. On Wednesday night, the Guthrie family shared their heartfelt video, expressing their distress and the importance of their mother in their lives.

Speaking to the public, Savannah Guthrie addressed reports of a possible ransom note, stating that their family is “ready to talk,” but highlighting the need for proof of their mother’s well-being before any negotiations. “We want to hear from you,” she urged. “Please, reach out to us.” The family painted a picture of Nancy Guthrie, emphasizing her loving nature and the pivotal role she plays in their lives. “Our mom is a kind, faithful, loyal, fiercely loving woman of goodness and light,” Savannah described. Her siblings echoed these sentiments, describing their mother as “a beacon” in their lives who chooses joy daily despite having faced significant challenges.

Expressing concern for their mother’s health, Savannah Guthrie highlighted Nancy’s fragile condition, noting that she needs her medication to survive and avoid suffering. Reassuring their mother directly, Savannah said, “Mommy, if you are hearing this, you are a strong woman. You are God’s precious daughter, Nancy. We believe and know that even in this valley, He is with you.” The Guthrie siblings, driven by their love and concern, continue their relentless search.

The family reported Nancy’s disappearance on Sunday after she failed to attend church as expected. According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, Nancy Guthrie had dinner at Annie Guthrie’s home on Saturday, and Annie’s husband, Tommaso Cioni, drove her home afterward. The situation took a grave turn when a ransom note was reportedly sent to a local Arizona news station, providing specific details about Nancy’s attire and surroundings when she vanished.

Despite the emergence of this potential evidence, investigators have not yet identified any suspects or persons of interest in the case. Sheriff Nanos emphasized the uncertainty surrounding the number of individuals involved in Nancy’s disappearance. He candidly shared, “It could be one, it could’ve been more, I don’t know.” In a troubling development, small amounts of blood were discovered both inside Nancy’s home and near the entrance, prompting further forensic investigation.

In response to the case’s urgency and complexity, the FBI is increasing its presence to assist local law enforcement in the search for Nancy. The matter has even reached the attention of the President. On social media, President Trump shared that he has spoken with Savannah Guthrie and assured that all available federal resources are being employed to aid in the safe return of her mother. “The prayers of our Nation are with her and her family,” he expressed.
