Robert De Niro collaborated with Ariana Grande on the comedy film “Focker-In-Law” and recently disclosed a surprising fact about their friendship. He has never watched her in the hit movie “Wicked.” This revelation makes De Niro one of the few who hasn’t seen this popular film.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, De Niro confessed, “I didn’t see her movie, and I still am trying to see it, believe it or not, but I want to see it. I’m going to see it with my daughter. And she’s, of course, seen it.” This shows his intention to catch up on Grande’s work, particularly because of his daughter.
Despite not having seen “Wicked,” De Niro remains familiar with Grande’s work. He recalled, “I had seen her in some stuff with my daughter, some sitcom thing she had done.” It’s likely he was referring to a Nickelodeon show. His daughter introduced him to Grande’s early work.
De Niro praised Grande’s performance in “Focker-In-Law,” where she portrays Olivia, the girlfriend of Henry Focker. The film releases in theaters on November 25. De Niro said of Grande’s acting, “She was very professional. She’s terrific and very quick and got it all. She was very much part of the whole process. I liked her. Nice kid.” His acknowledgment of Grande’s acting skills demonstrates her versatile talents.
De Niro’s commendation highlights Grande’s capabilities outside of her well-known singing career. It indicates she possesses strong acting talents as well.
