Former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant shared his opinion on the situation involving New York Knicks fans who blamed President Donald Trump for the Knicks’ Game 3 loss. The San Antonio Spurs won the game against New York, with a final score of 115-111. The game took place at Madison Square Garden, where Trump was present. The Knicks had 13 turnovers and a 45% field goal percentage, while the Spurs shot 46% from the field and committed only eight turnovers.
Bryant expressed his views on social media, stating, “That’s what you Knicks fans get for hating on President Trump!” His comments came as some Knicks fans pointed fingers at Trump for the team’s defeat, despite New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani also being present.
Bryant responded to critics accusing him of supporting Trump, saying, “Whatever personal problem you got with Trump.. IDGAF! go beat your face on the concrete if it makes you feel any better!”
During the game, Trump received a significant response from the crowd at Madison Square Garden, contrasting with a different reaction he experienced during the college football national championship in Florida earlier in January.
Bryant further stated, “With all due respect.. I don’t spend my time focusing on politics.. I don’t know what he deserves!”
Meanwhile, Knicks head coach Mike Brown commented on the disparity in foul calls between the teams, noting that the Spurs had 32 free throw attempts compared to the Knicks’ 22. “Coach Mitch Johnson and the Spurs won the game tonight. They came and took the game,” Brown acknowledged. However, he expressed concern over the officiating, saying, “I never thought I would be in the NBA Finals and see a team get 24 free throw attempts in the second half to another team’s eight.”
