Chipotle is marking the start of this summer’s FIFA World Cup with a special one-day promotion. Fans can enjoy a free meal if they come dressed for the occasion. The fast-casual chain introduced its first ‘Matchday BOGO’ deal, allowing a buy-one-get-one-free entrée for patrons wearing a soccer jersey on June 11. This promotion coincides with the opening of the global men’s soccer tournament and is available at numerous Chipotle locations worldwide.
Understanding the June 11 BOGO Deal
Chipotle’s promotion on June 11 enables customers to receive a free entrée with the purchase of another entrée of equal or greater value. This is a classic buy-one-get-one (BOGO) offer. Available only on Thursday, June 11, after 3 p.m. local time, the deal requires in-person redemption at participating venues. To qualify, customers must wear a soccer jersey.
‘The Matchday BOGO is available today from 3 p.m. to close local time at all Chipotle restaurants in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, and Germany,’ a Chipotle spokesperson informed Newsweek. The offer is limited to five free entrées per transaction and cannot be combined with other promotions or applied to online or delivery orders.
Who Can Avail of Chipotle’s BOGO?
Anyone wearing a soccer jersey at participating locations can benefit from the offer. The promotion is open to all patrons visiting participating restaurants in person. Each free entrée must correspond to a qualifying purchase and be redeemed by a jersey-wearing customer.
Included Menu Items
The deal applies to Chipotle entrées like burritos, bowls, tacos, and salads. Each complimentary item must accompany the purchase of another entrée of equal or greater value, based on company terms. Kids’ meals do not qualify, and the offer cannot be used with catering, mobile, online, or delivery orders, or in conjunction with other discounts.
Alongside the food promotion, Chipotle will release a limited-edition soccer jersey connected to the campaign. Only 53 jerseys will be available and are not sold in stores. Instead, Chipotle Rewards members can compete for a chance to win one through the Rewards Exchange program. From June 10 to June 24, members can enter the giveaway using rewards points, usually 10 points per entry. The jersey displays ‘Real Chipotle’ on the front and the number 53 on the back, symbolizing the brand’s ingredients.
‘Every four years, this tournament stirs an unmatched sense of excitement, pride, and community among fans worldwide,’ said Stephanie Perdue, senior vice president of brand marketing at Chipotle. ‘We wanted to honor the customs that make the experience memorable, from wearing lucky jerseys to gathering for matchday meals with Chipotle.’
