Danielle Fishel, known for her role as Topanga Lawrence in the 1990s series “Boy Meets World,” shares her fitness transformation. Fishel has moved away from traditional cardio and has embraced weightlifting to enhance her wellness.
At the Tribeca Festival for her “Doc Meets World” project, Fishel expressed how focusing on lifting weights instead of cardio has significantly changed her fitness routine. She includes walking for 20 to 30 minutes after meals in her regimen, enhancing the benefits of her strength training.
“I don’t do cardio anymore,” she said at the festival. “I like to walk for 20 to 30 minutes after every meal, but I lift weights, and it has made all the difference.” — Danielle Fishel
With this shift, Fishel, at 45, aligns with others who are opting for strength training to support long-term health and muscle growth.
In a reunion with former co-stars Rider Strong and Will Friedle, they reflected on their experiences in the spotlight. While discussing their history, Fishel and Strong revisited their time growing up on “Boy Meets World” alongside Ben Savage.
Strong, who played Cory’s friend Shawn, highlighted Savage’s talent and the deep bond they shared. Although the cast currently has a strained relationship with Savage, Strong offered a reminder of their shared experiences during the show’s production.
“Boy Meets World” aired on ABC from 1993 to 2000, spanning seven seasons. Rider Strong spoke about how Savage’s professionalism helped him adapt to being a child actor.
While sharing fond memories, Will Friedle, who portrayed Eric Matthews, also addressed the challenging aspects of child stardom. He admitted that there were moments when leaving Hollywood seemed like an option.
“There’s times I think we were all at one point considering running away from Hollywood,” said Friedle. “But like anything else, I’ve always said that true entertainers are the people that can’t do anything else. You might do something else, but you’re always pulled back.”
Ultimately, Friedle affirmed his dedication to entertaining as being at the core of his commitment to the industry.
