Chicago Bears’ Potential Move to Indiana Stirs Fan Reactions

3 hours ago 0

The Chicago Bears are considering a relocation to Hammond, Indiana, sparking concern among fans. This potential move takes the team away from its Illinois roots, much to the dismay of supporters such as WWE NXT champion Tony D’Angelo, an avid Bears fan from Oak Park, Illinois.

Speaking with Fox News Digital, D’Angelo expressed his frustration. “I don’t understand moving one of the oldest NFL franchises from Chicago,” he said. “They are ‘The Chicago Bears.’ Moving out of Illinois seems unthinkable. The Indiana Bears doesn’t sound right.” While D’Angelo now resides in Florida and attends fewer games, he highlighted the unique Chicago atmosphere and Lake Michigan’s scenic backdrop as reasons to keep the team in its city.

Bears executives, however, see potential growth with a “world-class stadium” in Hammond. They believe it could enhance the region and better connect Northwest Indiana with Chicago’s South Side, integrating the community across city neighborhoods and suburbs.

Despite his concerns over the move, D’Angelo remains hopeful for the Bears’ upcoming season. He feels the 2026 season, driven by quarterback Caleb Williams and coach Ben Johnson, holds promise. “It’s always Super Bowl or bust,” he stated, believing the team showed resilience and potential last year, dubbing them the ‘Bad News Bears.’

He recalled several close wins, noting Williams’ capabilities and Johnson’s leadership. Though some fans remain skeptical due to past inconsistencies, D’Angelo believes this season could secure confidence. “If we perform well, we can finally feel confident in our future,” he added.

In addition to his support for the Bears, D’Angelo will defend his NXT Championship against Naraku at The Great American Bash, set to air on the CW Network next weekend.
