Bryson DeChambeau’s Struggles in Golf: A Season to Forget

1 hour ago 0

This weekend marks the two-year anniversary of Bryson DeChambeau’s win at the U.S. Open, his second major championship. Yet, it feels like a distant memory. With DeChambeau’s current performance, it’s hard to believe he was a major winner.

DeChambeau, well-known for his presence on YouTube, failed to make the cut at the U.S. Open after ending two rounds at 5-over. This marks his third missed cut at a major tournament this season. DeChambeau’s struggles have been evident as he hasn’t played a weekend in this year’s major tournaments.

Previously seen as rising after winning the U.S. Open in 2024 and 2020, DeChambeau was admired by fans and media for his transformation both in personality and skill. During 2024 and 2025, he finished no worse than tenth in all but two major tournaments.

Fast forward to this year, and it’s been a challenging time. His performances have left much to be desired, contributing to the struggles within LIV Golf, where only six of the 13 golfers made the cut at the recent tournament at Shinnecock.

Aside from golf, DeChambeau appears to be contemplating a shift towards focusing on his YouTube channel. He has expressed interest in expanding his channel, even considering creating content in multiple languages. His statements about prioritizing entertainment over his professional golf game suggest a potential change in focus.

As DeChambeau faces the prospect of missing the cut in four consecutive majors, questions arise about his future in professional golf. With recent performances, expectations for success in upcoming tournaments remain low.
