TODAY show co-hosts expressed their solidarity with Savannah Guthrie as she sought prayers during the ongoing search for her missing mother, Nancy Guthrie. On a recent episode, Jenna Bush Hager emphasized, “All her friends are rallying, and we know the way to help her is through prayer.” She praised Savannah’s faith, mentioning, “Her faith guides us, and Nancy leads us as well.”
Amidst intensifying efforts, Savannah Guthrie turned to Instagram, posting a heartfelt request asking for prayers just two days after Nancy Guthrie was believed to be taken from her Arizona residence.
The search has engaged widespread concern as the authorities, both local and federal, continue their quest to locate the 84-year-old who went missing Sunday afternoon from her Tucson-area home after failing to attend church.
On the investigative front, Heith Janke, the FBI’s special agent in charge, was seen at the Guthrie residence, where the emotional family video likely originated. Janke, who oversees the FBI’s operations in Phoenix and its satellite office in Tucson, is at the helm of the FBI’s contributions to this high-profile investigation.

The 84-year-old’s disappearance remains a complex mystery. Nancy Guthrie had last been seen the previous night by her family before she went missing. Pima County Sheriff’s Department suggested that she might have been taken “in the middle of the night,” considering scenarios such as kidnapping or abduction. Despite their intense efforts, investigators have not pinpointed any suspects or individuals of interest. Officials previously highlighted that there’s no solid evidence indicating a targeted abduction.
The community has shown overwhelming support, with hundreds assembling to pray and participate in a candlelight vigil for Guthrie’s safe return.
In a gesture of concern and support, President Donald Trump personally called Savannah Guthrie to assure her of the government’s involvement and support. The call occurred after President Trump’s interview with NBC Nightly News. In his message, he conveyed that every federal resource necessary was being utilized to assist in the search. On his social media, Trump reassured: “We are deploying all resources to get her mother home safely,” emphasizing the nation’s thoughts and prayers for the Guthrie family.
As the search effort intensifies, investigators revisited the Guthrie residence. Former ATF special agent Jim Cavanaugh discussed the significance of the video released by Savannah Guthrie and her siblings, Annie and Camron. Though the video doesn’t authenticate the rumored ransom notes, he mentioned its importance in highlighting the family’s ongoing concern and willingness to cooperate. Cavanaugh remarked that the video also shed light on Nancy Guthrie as a cherished family figure, emphasizing her role as a grandmother.
In an emotional video appeal, Savannah Guthrie and her siblings reached out, committing to continue their pursuit until their mother is found. “We will not rest until we are together again,” Savannah declared, urging any potential informants or suspects to reach out.
