Poland to Investigate Potential Epstein-Russian Intelligence Connections

4 months ago 0

On February 4, 2026, Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced that the country will examine possible connections between convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and Russian intelligence services. This investigation arises from Poland’s concerns over the implications of the Epstein scandal beyond the realm of criminal justice, delving into national security concerns.

In a video statement shared on social media, Prime Minister Tusk disclosed that the Polish government will establish an analytical team to investigate whether Polish children may have been victims of abuse through criminal networks tied to Epstein. Tusk emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating, “We cannot allow any of the cases involving the abuse of Polish children by a network of pedophiles and the organizer of this satanic circle, Mr. Epstein, to be treated lightly or ignored.” Without providing further details, he mentioned receiving initial pieces of information indicating communication between Epstein and contacts in Krakow regarding Polish women or girls.

Prime Minister Tusk added, “We have decided to establish an analytical team and possibly also to launch an investigation if our concerns over the scandal involving pedophilia in the U.S. are confirmed.” He stressed the importance of addressing potential links between Epstein’s network and Russian intelligence, underscoring its significance for Polish state security.

The Polish announcement followed the release by the U.S. Department of Justice of approximately 3 million more pages of documents regarding the Epstein case, unveiling further details about his extensive global network. Tusk characterized the scandal as “a completely unprecedented case,” with the new material pointing to “Polish threads.” Consequently, Polish prosecutors and special services will conduct a meticulous analysis of these documents.

Beyond any violations against Polish citizens, Tusk referred to media reports and expert analyses suggesting that Epstein’s operations might have been leveraged by Russian intelligence to acquire compromising information on significant global figures. Such information could pose ongoing threats to democratic institutions and national security, he warned.

The investigation team, led by Poland’s justice minister and prosecutor general, will include prosecutors, police officers, and national security agency members. The government highlighted that the group will be small, operate with discretion, and begin its tasks immediately. Poland may also consider seeking further data from the U.S. concerning any Polish individuals involved and potentially propose broader international collaboration on the matter.

In response to these developments, Russian authorities have dismissed any suggestions of involvement with the Epstein affair. Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, earlier criticized such allegations, accusing Western elites of hypocrisy.
