President Donald Trump revealed on Saturday that significant progress has been made in negotiations with Iran and several allied nations. The discussions indicate a potential end to the ongoing 84-day conflict.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump described a “very good call” with leaders from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain. The president stated that the agreement is close to completion and requires finalization.
An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other countries, as listed,” Trump wrote.
He mentioned having a successful discussion with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu of Israel. The details of the deal are being finalized and will be announced soon.
A crucial element of the agreement involves the potential opening of the Strait of Hormuz, a key strategic passage. This development follows extensive diplomatic and military efforts related to the war with Iran.
Earlier, Trump expressed to Axios a “solid 50/50” stance on whether he would sign the agreement or resume military operations. Yet, after the conference call with Arab leaders, a regional diplomat conveyed to Fox News that the talks were “very positive,” highlighting regional leaders’ support for Trump’s achievement.
As negotiations proceed, the impending deal comes amid substantial U.S. military activity in the region. U.S. Central Command marked a significant milestone by redirecting 100 commercial vessels during a maritime blockade targeting Iranian ports.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio has noted progress in talks, stressing that any resolution would require Iran to keep the Strait of Hormuz open without tolls and relinquish its enriched uranium.
This situation is evolving, and further updates will be available as news develops.
