Kevin Warsh was officially sworn in as the new Chairman of the Federal Reserve in a ceremony held at the White House. The event took place on Friday morning, with U.S. President Donald Trump in attendance.
The swearing-in was conducted by Supreme Court Associate Justice Clarence Thomas. Kevin Warsh was accompanied by his wife, Jane Lauder, as he took the oath of office in the East Room.
Among those present at the ceremony were Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett. Supreme Court Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh also attended the event.
Kevin Warsh takes over the role from Jerome Powell, who served as the Federal Reserve Chair for eight years. Warsh’s appointment comes at a time when the country faces significant economic challenges, including rising inflation, which has been exacerbated by ongoing conflict in Iran.
