Despite prevailing uncertainty around LIV Golf, Bryson DeChambeau remains hopeful and does his best to uplift the spirits of the circuit. This follows the recent announcement by the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) revealing that funding will cease after the 2026 season.
With this unexpected development, Bryson DeChambeau has experienced a whirlwind of reactions. The two-time U.S. Open winner suggested he might focus more on other ventures, such as nurturing his growing YouTube channel, while still participating in major championships. Additionally, he has expressed interest in a potential return to the PGA Tour, acknowledging the challenges that lie ahead.
During the final round of the LIV Golf Dallas tournament, Bryson DeChambeau addressed the uncertain future facing the circuit. Ahead of this week’s LIV event in Korea, where he is the defending champion, DeChambeau stressed his ongoing support for the circuit.
“We were surprised that they pulled out as quickly as they did,” DeChambeau said regarding the Saudi PIF’s announcement. “We didn’t really see that coming. But that’s okay. One door closes, another opens.”
He expressed optimism, believing in the viability of team golf compared to other models. DeChambeau is actively involved in efforts to secure LIV Golf’s future. He shared, “We’ll see if investors like it or not. I’m giving all I can to make it happen, and if it doesn’t, it doesn’t happen.”
Reports from Sportico and CNBC indicate that LIV Golf is presenting a new proposal for potential investors, focusing on a 10-event global schedule. For the 2026 season, the schedule includes 12 events. The league seeks $250 million to $350 million to maintain operations, with plans to achieve profitability within three years.
Mark Harris, a writer for OutKick, has reported these developments, emphasizing the efforts to stabilize and grow LIV Golf in the coming years.
