Concerns Rise Over China and Russia’s Use of “Sex Spies” in the U.S.

A former CIA operative has sounded a warning about the tactics employed by China and Russia to obtain U.S. technology and state secrets. He claims these nations are deploying ‘sex spies’ as part of their psychological warfare strategy.

J. Michael Waller, speaking to Fox News Digital, described how major adversaries like China and Russia are using honeypot techniques to gather intelligence or compromise politicians. During his time working for the CIA in Poland, Waller recounted encountering a young Chinese woman who expressed a keen interest in his activities. Upon further interaction, he identified her as a spy, subsequently reporting her to Polish authorities, leading to her swift expulsion from the country.

Waller revealed this spy had detailed knowledge of his unstated background, underscoring the depth of intelligence gathering employed by such operatives.

They exploit loneliness and social desires, using sex as a weapon, a tactic as old as history itself, Waller explained.

The U.S. government responded by prohibiting personnel in China from engaging in romantic or sexual relationships with Chinese citizens. This policy, enacted by former Ambassador Nicholas Burns, came before his departure coinciding with the inauguration of President Donald Trump. Violators face reassignment out of China.

In another instance of technological espionage, Aliia Roza, a former Russian agent groomed for manipulation, revealed Silicon Valley as a prime target for foreign spies seeking access to cutting-edge technology and trade secrets.

According to Roza, operatives begin by flattering and feigning vulnerability, manipulating their targets by evoking a ‘hero instinct,’ which leads to emotional entanglements.

Waller offers practical advice to Americans: if an extremely attractive person from China shows unwarranted interest, consider the possibility of espionage.
