Brandi Glanville expressed fears about potentially contracting a ‘sexually transmitted ringworm’ in her throat. She shared these concerns with Lisa Ann, a former adult film star, during her podcast, Brandi Glanville Unfiltered.
Glanville, known for her role on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, believed the infection stemmed from dating someone in the adult industry. Lisa Ann mentioned to Glanville that ringworm is quite common on set, and most individuals are unaware of how to identify it. She described how makeup artists are trained to inspect new talent for any suspicious patches on their skin due to the highly contagious nature of ringworm.
A highly contagious fungal infection affects skin, hair, or nails. Despite its name, ringworm is not related to worms.
Glanville recounted thinking she had an infection in her throat until informed by a friend about the condition. Despite undergoing various tests, the results remained inconclusive. Symptoms like deep burrowing were concerning, particularly when considering an infection potentially contracted from a partner involved in wrestling.
Previously, Glanville suspected contracting a parasite after visiting Morocco in 2023. She experienced facial paralysis, initially diagnosed as stress-induced angioedema. However, she later thought a parasite might be responsible due to sensations indicating something moving within her face.
The Mayo Clinic explains that angioedema is a reaction similar to hives, affecting deeper skin layers. Despite treatments, her symptoms worsened, prompting Glanville to prioritize resolution for her health issues. Earlier this year, she discovered medical problems linked to 20-year-old ruptured breast implants.
Resolving these issues was not easy, as Glanville revealed spending over $70,000 seeking answers to the condition that affected her daily life.
