4 months ago 0

The investigation involving actor Kiefer Sutherland continues as no formal charges have been filed yet. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office announced this development on Monday. The inquiry follows Sutherland’s arrest on January 12, under suspicion of making felony criminal threats.

A scheduled court appearance for the ’24’ star in Los Angeles was postponed, as the case required further investigation by police, as noted by the DA’s office in a statement to ABC News.

Kiefer Sutherland was apprehended after law enforcement responded to a radio call reporting an alleged assault involving a ride-share driver near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. Jail records indicate that following his arrest, Sutherland was released on a $50,000 bond.

The actor, who has refrained from public commentary about the incident, allegedly engaged in a physical confrontation with the ride-share driver. According to law enforcement sources cited by ABC News, the driver claimed Sutherland punched him multiple times and attempted to choke him. However, police noted that the incident resulted in no injuries requiring medical treatment, and Sutherland was not booked on assault suspicion.

Sutherland is well-known for his portrayal of President Thomas Kirkman in ABC’s ‘Designated Survivor’ and for his Emmy-winning performance as Jack Bauer in the action series ’24.’ He is the son of renowned late actors Donald Sutherland and Shirley Douglas.
