Iran Warns U.S. of ‘Major Risk’ Amid 2026 World Cup Tensions

1 week ago 0

An Iranian state news agency cautioned the United States about facing a ‘major risk’ as tensions escalate due to renewed military actions on Iran. These developments come before the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Nour News, affiliated with Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, stated, ‘If the USA aims to control oil and reduce gas prices before the World Football Championship, simultaneous military pressure and negotiations with Iran present a major risk.’ The outlet warned that any error could transform Trump into a symbol of a costly mistake, potentially haunting each World Cup with the memory.

The warning coincides with the U.S. resuming military actions against Iran on Monday. According to U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), these actions targeted missile launch sites and Iranian vessels attempting to plant mines. Captain Tim Hawkins, a CENTCOM spokesperson, informed Newsweek, ‘U.S. forces carried out self-defense strikes in southern Iran to safeguard our troops from threats by Iranian forces. Targets included missile launch sites and Iranian boats attempting to lay mines.’

This is a breaking story. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
