Lainey Wilson and Duck Hodges are adjusting to married life and have started finishing each other’s sentences. Their first major appearance as a married couple occurred at the 61st Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas, where Wilson was nominated for seven awards during one of country music’s illustrious evenings.

During a red carpet interview with Fox News Digital, the couple shared thoughts on their recent wedding week and adaptation to marital life. Wilson expressed enthusiasm by stating, “It’s crazy. Getting to call you my husband,” alongside Hodges who added, “I don’t think it’s sunk in yet.” The couple, married a week ago, feel as though they are entering a significant new chapter.

Lainey Wilson, known for her “Yellowstone” role, embraces cowboy culture and comments that people are “over the bulls—.”

Attention was drawn to the distinctive design of Wilson’s engagement ring. The couple discussed their Tennessee wedding, noting personal significance. Wilson shared a humorous anecdote about the emotional moment when Hodges first saw her in her bridal gown.

Reflecting on the ceremony, Wilson remarked on the importance of having their friends and family present. Hodges agreed, noting that the event was enjoyable. The wedding, held on May 10 at The Ruskin Cave in Dickson, Tennessee, was intimate and romantic, set on a cobblestone ledge by a waterfall.

In Vogue, Wilson detailed how they discovered the venue by chance during a drive in Tennessee. Hodges suggested the location for their wedding, and both were captivated by its natural beauty and relaxing atmosphere. Wilson remarked on the pleasant sounds of water and birds during the ceremony. She arrived in a white horse-drawn carriage accompanied by her father for the walk down the aisle.

The ceremony reflected Wilson’s Louisiana roots alongside the couple’s laid-back demeanor. Guests were treated to a Cajun-inspired menu and entertained by a 12-piece jazz band, the Rebirth Brass Band, which led a New Orleans-style celebration post-ceremony.

Wilson shared how she incorporated her Louisiana heritage into the event, and wore an Oscar de la Renta gown adorned with Japanese cherry blossoms signifying living in the moment. Hodges embraced a western style with a dark green suit, gold duck bolo tie, cowboy hat, and custom boots from Wilson’s Golden West Boots brand.

Before the ceremony, the couple privately exchanged handwritten vows to maintain intimacy. Wilson noted, “I have never seen Duck smile as big as he did then,” highlighting their excitement for marriage.

The couple’s first dance featured Muscadine Bloodline’s “10-90 (The Sound of Roses),” followed by a sparkler sendoff, leaving in an old white Ford truck.

Wilson and Hodges met in 2021 through mutual friends on a blind date in Nashville. “We went to a spot on the water in Nashville called Moby Dicky’s,” Wilson recounted. Their journey culminated in Hodges’ proposal at George Jones’s former estate in February 2025.

Their appearance at the 2025 ACM Awards was a milestone, marking two years since their initial public debut at the same event.
