Rod Stewart, a rock legend at 81, recently canceled two scheduled performances in Las Vegas. He was set to appear at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace on May 29 and 30. The decision to cancel came just before the events were to commence.
A representative for Stewart said in a statement to Las Vegas Review, “Following his doctor’s advice, Rod Stewart has regretfully canceled his performances at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas on May 29 and 30, but is scheduled to return with shows beginning June 2.”
Stewart also issued a personal statement, expressing his regrets to fans. “My apologies to my family of fans. I am on vocal rest as I recover from a sinus infection. I look forward to seeing you at a future show at Caesars Palace or on tour this summer,” he shared.
Rod Stewart, currently facing health challenges, had to postpone two concert dates unexpectedly.
Fans received notifications about the show’s cancellation close to the time it was set to begin, causing disappointment among attendees. One individual commented on the timing, receiving the notice less than two hours before the scheduled 7:30 p.m. start.
Another fan remarked, “He needs to retire and enjoy the rest of his years in peace.” However, Stewart has been clear about continuing his musical career. In 2024, after announcing a farewell tour, he emphasized he was stepping back from large tours, not retiring. “This will be the end of large-scale world tours for me, but I have no desire to retire,” he stated on social media. “I love what I do, and I do what I love.”
Rod Stewart remains active, maintaining a lifestyle focused on fitness. He mentioned being able to run 100 meters in 18 seconds. Last year, he discussed his fitness regimen with AARP, noting he played soccer extensively and has had the same trainer for 38 years.
Stewart’s fitness routine includes gym and pool exercises. He described underwater training, where he pushes a brick across a pool. Besides swimming, he practices 100-meter sprints on his private track. The singer aims to push his sprint time further, challenging himself to reach speeds competitive for his age.
