Samsung Unveils Its 2026 Mobile and Wearables Lineup

2 days ago 0

Samsung has announced its 2026 lineup of mobile and wearable devices. The future appears stylish, as highlighted during the Galaxy Unpacked event in London on July 20th. The company is set to release three sleek hinge-based phones, two smartwatches, and two smart glasses later this year.

Samsung describes this lineup as “its most complete,” aiming to widen the reach of foldables. Leveraging seven generations of innovation and consumer feedback, the new Galaxy Z series offers users diverse choices tailored to different needs.

Galaxy Z Series Phones

The lineup includes the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and the Galaxy Z Flip8. The Fold8 models open sideways for larger landscape screens, while the Flip8 opens vertically for a sizable portrait display. Samsung focuses on making devices thinner, brighter, and more durable this year.

Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra

Among the devices, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra stands out. It feels more robust and is noticeably slimmer due to the new Flex Titanium material. This design ensures better durability during folding. Although a subtle crease is visible in certain lighting, the improvements in handling and form factor are evident.

The Fold8 Ultra boasts a 200 MP main camera and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. Though incremental over last year’s model, enhancements like Improved Nightography7 and 8K editing with an advanced APV codec provide significant benefits.

Galaxy Z Flip8

The Galaxy Z Flip8 offers improvements over the previous model, Flip7. It is lighter and thinner, with a redesigned FlexWindow Home allowing for more expansive app interactions without unfolding the device. Features such as booking taxis, checking reminders, and accessing health hubs add to its appeal.

Smartwatches: Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch9

Galaxy Watch Ultra2

The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 showcases the most enhancements, offering a 35% better battery life for prolonged use. According to Samsung, it has the brightest smartwatch display and a 12% thinner casing. Samsung describes it as ushering in “a new era of effortless health,” with meaningful insights offered through wearable technology.

Features include hydration monitoring for trail runners and data for divers, albeit at a premium price of $699.99, targeting pro athletes.

Galaxy Watch9

The Galaxy Watch9 serves a broader audience, focusing on health management. It tracks Heart Health Scores based on BMI, vascular load, activity, and sleep, providing actionable heart health advice. Additional features like a fitness index give users a comprehensive health snapshot.

Samsung’s Smart Eyewear

Samsung teamed up with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker for its smart glasses. Won-Joon Choi, COO of Samsung Electronics MX Business, noted that these glasses enhance AI interactions by bringing personalized assistance into everyday moments. Though not fully tested, they are visually appealing for street use.

Product Release Dates

The Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8 are available for pre-order in select markets starting July 22, 2026, with release anticipated in early August 2026. The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 and Watch9 share the same pre-order date, targeting general availability from August 7, 2026.
