2 hours ago 0

A young child is in critical condition following an incident involving a crocodile at a UK zoo, according to British police. The three-year-old boy was rescued from the crocodile enclosure at Johnson’s of Old Hurst Zoo in Cambridgeshire on Thursday. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Authorities have not disclosed how the boy ended up inside the enclosure. However, a 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. The police stated that the man is not known to the victim and has been deemed unfit for an interview. He was released on bail as investigations continue.

Police reported that the child sustained severe injuries but is in a critical yet stable condition. Detective Inspector Verity McCann expressed support for the boy’s family and assured that specialist officers are assisting them during this challenging time. The investigation into the incident is ongoing as detectives work to clarify the situation surrounding the event.

The family-operated zoo has announced that its Tropical House, home to the crocodiles, will remain closed temporarily. This decision was made out of respect for the affected family. The zoo, which features a diverse collection of over one hundred animals including lions, tigers, and capybaras, has a long-standing interest in crocodiles and has been involved with them for two decades.
