New information has emerged regarding an alleged terror plot against a UFC event near the White House. Authorities have arrested five individuals across four states connected to plans involving explosive drone attacks, sniper ambushes, and more. Seized evidence includes firearms, ammunition, tactical gear, and screenshots of potential targets.
Authorities have released the mugshots of the suspects, including one who was smiling, accused of planning a mass casualty event targeting President Donald Trump and other officials during the UFC Freedom 250 event. The arrests took place following a multi-state operation by federal authorities.
U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro stated that her office is not currently handling any part of the case, despite the alleged plot targeting an event in Washington, D.C. Pirro explained that prosecutors need activity within the district to establish jurisdiction.
Suspects and Allegations
Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez, 31, from Omaha, Nebraska, is identified as the alleged leader of the plot. Prosecutors describe Alvarez as orchestrating the plan with coded references in encrypted messages targeting high-profile individuals.
Tycen C. Proper, 19, from Ohio, reportedly compiled a target list with 46 names and spent around $3,000 on related materials. Investigators found writings outlining extremist beliefs connected to the alleged scheme.
Bryan Omar Roa, 24, from California, communicated with the group through encrypted channels. He faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder.
Michael Alan Thomas, 32, also from California, allegedly discussed contingency plans if arrested. Court documents state he considered aiding co-conspirators in escaping custody.
Daniel K. Eskridge, 32, from Kidder, Missouri, proposed his property as a safe house and discussed building a hidden bunker. Conversations about acquiring explosive materials were also allegedly part of his involvement.
Attack Plans and Investigation
The group allegedly intended to use explosive-laden drones during the event, targeting officials as attendees evacuated. A southern evacuation point was specified for sniper teams to engage high-value targets.
Investigators also allege the group considered acquiring military ordnance due to insufficient expertise in manufacturing explosives. One discussed proposal included targeting the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant.
The criminal case remains open, and further developments are anticipated.
