6 days ago 0

Jake Lang, a far-right influencer involved in the January 6 Capitol incident and later pardoned by former President Trump, was recently arrested in Dallas, Texas. Lang, 31, faced a state charge for making terroristic threats, as reported by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The arrest took place on June 10, 2026, when Lang disembarked a flight in Dallas. Lang was charged with a third-degree felony and booked into the Dallas County Jail. Photos and videos reportedly captured Lang outside the Collin County courthouse during the high-profile murder trial of Karmelo Anthony.

The trial concluded with Anthony being found guilty for the April 2025 murder of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf at a track meet in Frisco, leading to a 35-year prison sentence. Anthony’s family stated that Lang allegedly made a threat to shoot Anthony if he wasn’t convicted.

Lang held a sign reading “White Lives Matter” with Austin Metcalf’s photo during courtroom demonstrations.

In a posted video, a voice claiming to be Lang from the Dallas County Jail denounced his arrest, citing it as suppression of First Amendment rights. Lang’s bail was set at $1 million, but his legal representation remains unreachable.

Lang has had numerous encounters with law enforcement, having been arrested recently in Frisco for trespassing and in Minnesota for alleged vandalism. His Minnesota trial is upcoming.

Previously, Lang was charged with 11 federal counts for the January 6 riot, including officer assault and civil disorder, but received a presidential pardon before his trial could proceed.

Karmelo Anthony’s father, Andrew Anthony, expressed relief over Lang’s arrest but noted ongoing threats and racial tensions faced by their family. Despite the conviction, Anthony’s family claimed he acted in self-defense and received significant public attention and protests during the trial.

Jeff Metcalf, Austin Metcalf’s father, publicly urged against politicizing his son’s death and emphasized forgiveness toward Anthony.
